Eid Al Etihad holiday: Will UAE National Day see rain, fog or clear skies?
Mild afternoons with cool mountain nights expected across the long weekend
DUBAI – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is set for pleasant weather conditions during the Eid Al Etihad break from 29 November to 3 December, according to the National Centre of Meteorology.
Residents and visitors planning outdoor excursions can expect partly cloudy skies, mild daytime conditions and noticeably cooler nights. Early mornings are likely to feature light fog or mist in some internal and coastal regions, making for scenic yet hazy starts to the day. Cloud cover will increase at times, particularly over northern, coastal and island areas, with a chance of intermittent scattered rainfall.
Temperature outlook
Maximum temperatures will range between 24°C and 28°C in coastal and island areas, making beaches and waterfronts ideal for daytime outings. Inland regions are forecast to experience daytime highs between 26°C and 30°C, while mountainous areas will offer the coolest daytime conditions at 12°C to 20°C. After sunset, temperatures will drop sharply, reaching between 16°C and 24°C along the coast, 12°C to 16°C inland and 8°C to 15°C in the mountains.
Cloudy conditions
Saturday, 29 November, will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with a chance of rainfall over coastal, northern and eastern areas. The highest temperature in Abu Dhabi is expected at 27°C, while Dubai will see similar conditions. Winds will shift from southeasterly to northwesterly, blowing at speeds of 10–25kmph, reaching up to 40kmph with cloud activity. Seas will remain slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.
Wind and humidity
Humidity levels are expected to rise by night and during early mornings, increasing the likelihood of mist, particularly in inland regions. Light to moderate winds will dominate throughout Sunday and Monday, occasionally strengthening to 35kmph. Fair to partly cloudy skies will persist over western and coastal regions, with low clouds appearing at intervals. Visibility may be reduced during early hours due to light fog or mist.
Cooler evenings
Mountain regions will remain the coolest nationwide, with daytime temperatures between 17°C and 25°C and night-time lows of 9°C to 13°C. Inland areas will dip to between 7°C and 11°C overnight, while humidity in some coastal pockets will reach up to 85 percent, making evenings feel slightly warmer. The final day of the break, Tuesday, 2 December, will remain partly cloudy with increasing humidity overnight, raising the chance of mist into Wednesday morning.
